NovaMin Announces Launch Of DenShield™ Product In Europe
ALACHUA FL - December 5, 2004 -- NovaMin Technology Inc. (NTI) today announced that it has begun shipping its newest product, DenShield™ Treatment for Sensitive Teeth, to distributors in selected markets in Europe.
DenShield is a breakthrough in treatment of sensitive teeth, providing patients with near complete relief from sensitivity to hot and cold foods and beverages with only a once-per-week brushing with the DenShield dentifrice. The product provides superior relief to traditional sensitivity toothpastes, without requiring users to change from their favorite brand of regular toothpaste.
Most tooth sensitivity is the result of open dentin tubules along the gum line, with are tiny channels into the center of the tooth. These tubules give direct access to the tooth nerve, This results in pain when hot and cold foods and beverages are consumed. This condition effects about 25% of adults frequently and almost 85% at some point in their lives.
The active ingredient in DenShield is NovaMin (calcium sodium phosphosilicate) which functions by building new tooth mineral to block the open tubules. The users brush every day for two weeks then can revert to just one brushing per week. Each package contains a six-month supply.
Recently completed clinical studies at multiple sites in Italy demonstrated up to 90% relief from sensitivity after 4 weeks, with substantial reductions after just one week.
